The Nahla Set was created and named in honor of my grandmother, Dr. Nahla — Allah yarhamha, may she rest in peace — a woman whose strength, modesty, and compassion shaped the very foundation of what Layla Scrubs stands for. She trained as a doctor in Baghdad, surrounded by talented women, yet she stood out for her unwavering commitment to her values. At a time when it was uncommon and often misunderstood, she wore her hijab with pride — a quiet, powerful declaration of dignity, identity, and grace.

Driven by a profound passion for women’s health, she first pursued gynecology, embracing her calling to comfort and uplift women. When her family grew and her children needed her, she made a courageous, intentional shift into pathology — choosing a path that allowed her to remain both a present mother and an exceptional physician. She never abandoned her purpose; she simply reshaped it with strength. After transitioning into pathology, she continued her specialty training in England, refining her knowledge with the same ambition and discipline that defined her entire career.

After raising her children, she stepped into a new chapter. Alongside my grandfather, Dr. Mohamed Saleh, a renowned cardiothoracic surgeon, they opened a clinic together. Two clinics under one roof — his and hers — built on compassion, healing, and commitment to their community. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to caring for women, giving comfort, clarity, and dignity to every patient who entered her door.

And she continued to serve women until her very last breath. She passed away during Umrah a few years ago — Allah yarhamha — leaving this world in a state of worship, her legacy still alive in every woman she guided, comforted, and healed.

The Nahla Set reflects everything she embodied: strength in its silhouette, modesty in its form, and elegance in every thoughtful detail. It is more than a scrub set. It is a tribute to a woman whose life was shaped by service, resilience, and unwavering grace — a woman whose memory continues to inspire every stitch, every design, and every woman who wears what was created in her name.
